Introduction to Experiencing Chinese Study System

1. Scientific Grading and Specific Positioning.

Interesting Chinese: It targets beginners without previous Chinese learning experience. This part impresses learners with Chinese character, dialects and tones.
Pronunciation Imitation: It aims to assist beginners with basic pronunciation study.
Elementary Speaking: It is suitable for beginners to start basic conversation and communication.

Advanced Speaking: It targets experienced learners to improve the communication skills in different areas such as business Chinese.

To practice conversation with computer program releases learners from pressure and embarrassment. The system can inspire and maintain learners’ interests by its advantages including multi-media format, accurate and timely assessment of pronunciation, comfortable conversation environment, and convenient self-assessment. The teaching materials consist of pictures, flash and videos of real life.


 Powerful Customized Management Function

The function of "Teaching Management" is another special characteristic of "Experiencing Chinese Study System". It fits the need of Chinese schools and training organizations. The learning record stores every details of each learner in background program that enables the teacher to acquire information about his students, such as log in time, study time, scores of listening and speaking, units in learning. Thus, the manager of education administration can produce the integrated ranking and results from class to school. In addition, the teacher can review the graph of historical scores of each student so as to answer their questions and tutor them individually through voice and words in distance. According to the responses, the teacher can also establish passing requirement of each unit.

 Three-grade Listening, Speaking and Talking Training

"Experiencing Chinese System" is divided into three stages as following:

(1) Elementary Speaking targets beginners without previous Chinese language learning experiences. This stage aims to help learners acquire basic communication skills of daily life, correct the pronunciation and cultivate the study interests. It consists of 12 units, each of which consists of common conversations happening in daily life and school life, such as greeting, shopping, discussing about weather and seeking help. 

(2) Intermediate Speaking targets learners with basic knowledge about Chinese language. This stage emphasizes to improve comprehensive communication skills of daily life, correct the pronunciation and cultivate their language sense. It consists of 16 units, each of which is of common conversation happening in daily life and school life. A few setting are similar to the Elementary Level but more difficult.

(3) Advanced Speaking targets to experienced learners who are in need of developing vocabulary and communication skills in business and social life. It consists of 16 units that more relate to business and social life.

 Characteristic Study Mould

1.Pronunciation Imitation 
 
This feature targets learners without previous Chinese language learning experience. It provides a comprehensive pronunciation lesson utilizing animation, dubbing, “Follow Me” exercises and text guidance. The system provides all pronunciation demonstration of standard Chinese by the positions of mouth, teeth, tongue, oral and nasal cavity. Learners can imitate while listening, as well as replay their pronunciation at any time. As a result, learners can master normative Chinese pronunciation by continuously contrast to the system. It is the best teaching model for non-first language environment.

2. Key Words and Basic Sentences

This feature consists of carefully selected key words and basic sentences for Chinese beginners.

3. Follow Me

This feature provides “Follow Me” exercises for every single sentence. After the learner reads a sentence, the system will provide a visual-feedback assessment of their performance. Smile means excellent, calmness means good, and crying means more efforts needed. Meanwhile, the learner can compare his pronunciation with the standard one to discover differences. It is also designed with slow-down function which enables the learner to operate himself while listening and following.

4. Role-playing

(1) The system creates a vividly interactive environment for speaking and listening exercises. The learner and the system play different roles in "real-life" scenarios, together forming dialogues and thus building the learner's communication skills in terms of both comprehension and performance.

(2) The system assesses the learner's performance after each dialogue. Only if his scores achieve the passed requirement set by his teacher, the learner can continue to the next unit.

(3) Additionally, the passing requirement can also be made by the time length of learning. It means the learner cannot enter into the next unit until he fulfills the requirement of learning time.
